let’s go to the beach, chase the waves, build sandcastles that don’t look like anything at all or get our hair wet and sticky from the sea air. we’ll lie on the shore and watch the hermit crabs and decipher ammonites. shake sand out of our shoes and misplace the sunblock. we could have our own nasty cocktail mix and toss bread at the seagulls. for one day, we’ll pretend this is all we have to do for the rest of our lives. say you’d come, won’t you?
What does this city have to offer me? I just can’t see.
We’ll drive for miles maybe never turn off.
